Holy Baptism

Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God" (John 3:5).

Holy Baptism is the first Holy Mystery of the Orthodox Christian Church, through which a person is spiritually reborn by water and the Holy Spirit, cleansed from sin, united with Christ in His death and Resurrection, and received into His Holy Church.

Through Holy Baptism, the faithful become members of the Body of Christ and begin their new life in Him, being called to grow in holiness and communion with God.

“For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ”

                                                  (Galatians 3:27)
